If you are a motorcycle enthusiast that is looking for one of the most beautiful motorcycle tours that can be taken in the whole of Australia, you might want to consider taking a tour from Sydney to Perth. Not only will you be able to see some of the best, most beautiful beaches that the region has to offer, but you will also be able to drive the higher elevation alpine regions, visit multiple interesting cultural cities along the way, visit vineyards and sample wine, and also get a great view of the outback. Many people that make this journey take the following route and see these sights;
Sydney
As a starting location, it gets no better than Sydney. The amazing and iconic opera house sits tall against the backdrop. The city itself is bustling and offers many different activities, which is precisely why you should consider this as a starting location. You could spend several days exploring Sydney alone, depending on how quick you wanted to get going.
Southern Coast
Along the coastline of New South Wales, there are so many beautiful sights to see. With many roads stretching along the vast Ocean, and more than 35 National Parks to visit in the area, there is an almost unlimited number of places to stop along the way. Many stop at the famous Sea Cliff Bridge, which is one of the most innovative modern roads. You drive along the ocean for large stretches along the Southern Coast, which serves as a good opener during your larger trip.
Alpine Region
As you move farther from the coast you will enter the alpine region of Australia. Did you know that the Alpine range in Australia is home to more ski resorts than are even available in skiing sanctuaries like Switzerland. The beautiful drive gives great views of snow-capped mountains, and is a great second leg to the journey after leaving the New South Wales coastline.
Highlands
The Victoria Highlands are a bit tamer than that of the Alpine region. There are many beautiful roads that take you through an area of Australia that not many motorcycle tourists ever discover, and use proper motorcycle gear before hitting any trip. The wide open plains are surrounded by rolling mountains and hills on all sides. Several towns will provide interesting backdrops as you travel through the highlands and all of the beautiful sights that the region has to offer.
Outback
As you make your way inland, you will slowly see the environment change from the highlands to a much more desert environment. On this journey, the Outback truly begins once you reach Flinders Ranges. The mountainous landscapes of the Outback first become apparent here. Red cliffs surround you as you make your way through the dry and beautiful desert air. Eagles and blue skies sail above you.
Null arbor Plain
The Null arbor Plain is a truly amazing sight for those that have never crossed the vast plain before. The area features the largest single piece of limestone anywhere in the world, stretching more than 200,000 square kilometers. It provides a unique experience for those that have never been in the Outback previously or have never toured on motorcycle. The plain is incredible, stretching impressively far and offering some of the most beautiful sunsets that you will ever see on a motorcycle tour.
Albany
The permanent settlement of Albany is the oldest settled community in all of Western Australia. It can provide some very unique cultural areas to visit, and is home to some of the world’s most sought after vineyards, along with the Margaret River.
Perth
Some 25-30 days later, your tour will come to an end in Perth. Perth serves as an excellent stopping point for this journey. The city sits on the beautiful Swan River, and the design of the city is very modern compared to other cities that you will have seen on your journey.
Although the trip from Sydney to Perth is long, it can be amazingly fulfilling. There is enough to do to keep things slow-paced in the cities, and you can breeze through the plains as quickly as you'd like. Traffic through much of the trip should be relatively light, and many of the roads in the South are kept in tip top condition.
