The Dominican Republic was a very cool country to visit. It is a lot like Cancun 10-15 years ago. Things are building up and the popularity is building, but it stills feels like you aren't in the USA any more. Any time I visit an island I make it a priority to Scuba diving.

I have been scuba diving since I was 13 years old. I quit for a while and then started back in my mid-20’s. I am sure you can tell by my other stories that I am always searching for a new adventure and a new way to experience what I already know how to do. Scuba diving is no different. I have done a lot of different types of scuba diving, but I had never done a night dive in the ocean.

When I was a kid my parents learned to scuba dive at a local place called The Scuba Shop. At the time I was too young to get certified, but my parents got into scuba pretty heavily. My whole life I had grown up around water. I was only two years old the first time I went water skiing. (I have the 8mm film to prove it!) Naturally, when my parents started scuba diving I was around other divers and often on dive boats with my parents.

Sometimes You Have To Go With the Flow To Find Satisfaction
A couple of summers ago my wife and I went back to her home town of Stewiacke, Nova Scotia to visit her parents. We went on July 4th weekend and it was a nice break from the Carolina heat. I think the highs up there were somewhere in the low 80's, Fahrenheit, of course. Nova Scotia is a beautiful place. There is a lot of untouched nature up there and that also lends itself to some good outdoor adventures.
