Mike and I bought our tickets as soon as they went on sale for the Overland Expo East. I’ll be honest, Mike talked me into it, but I am glad he did. We purchased the full Overland Experience ticket so we got access to all the classes and camping.

It was going to be one of those occasional warmer February days and I wanted to get out on my FZ1. I invited all the usual suspects, but it was short notice so nobody was able to go. On New Year’s Eve I got an invitation from a fellow forum member to join him on a street ride to the Tail of The Dragon. Both of his bikes were in the shop, but it was looking like a day with good weather so he rented a BMW RT1200 so he could take advantage of the weather. Our plan was to meet up at 9:00 AM and get in a solid days ride.
